Month 9

Dear Evan,

This letter is late because you turned 9 months old in Germany! You flew on your first airplane this month, and your second, third and fourth. You rode on your first boat, stayed in your first (and second) hotel and visited your first foreign country. You got a passport, visited castles, ate schnitzel and rode in a car going 200 km/hr (that's about 124mph for our non-metric readers.)

Your ninth month was an exciting one. You're becoming such a little person. You can't speak but you can definitely communicate. You yell and laugh and grunt and babble. It's pretty much nonstop noise from you. Luckily, when we're in public, it's all cuteness.

You are awesome in public. The ladies smile and wave and smooch and coo at you. Even most men can't resist your cuteness. Everyone thinks you're such a good baby. And, you are. A little challenging at night, perhaps, but in general, you're so good-natured.

And everyone comments on your hair. People pass you in the grocery store and say, "Good morning, Fuzzy Head!" as if that's just your name. You were waving at two men on the boat after we finished our cruise in Germany and one made a "big hair" gesture to the other. Even German men on a boat notice your crazy hair. As Daddy says, it's your best feature.

You're on the move this month. First with very determined rolling and then with some army crawling and you're just start to get real crawling. We're in so much trouble. You are very determined to get your hands on anything and everything that doesn't belong to you. You can be surrounded by toys and you'll crawl around them all to get to the power cords or a piece of fuzz to shove in your mouth. Our messy house days are officially over. Your dad even says he caught you trying to pull up while we were in Germany. It's the beginning of the end.

I always have to talk a bit about food. You're just a monster, Buddy. You eat everything. It just seems normal to us, but everyone we tell is really impressed. If we're eating something, we offer it to you. Simple as that. And most of the time you eat it. That made traveling with you much easier because we only had to bring a few things for you. Mostly, we just fed you bits of what we were eating.

Overall, your ninth month was just fun. I love watching you grow and learn.

I love you, Buddy.

Mom

We spent lots of time outside this month.

You might have eaten some grass this month.

You love that kid in the mirror. He's so cute!

Super Couponer

You two can't get enough of this.

Everyone says you look like Daddy.

You definitely ate some grass this day.

No caption necessary. :)

Spaghetti is your favorite.

If it doesn't belong to you, it is VERY interesting.

You like swinging.

Fauxhawk. My favorite. :)
